Five Great Ways to Market Your Business Cheaply

 Market Your Business Cheaply

Running a business is certainly not cheap and marketing costs can end up being one of your biggest expenses. Naturally you’ll be looking for free or inexpensive ways to market your business to keep costs down and increase profit margins. We’ve put together a list of cheap or free ways to give your marketing a boost.

Social media

Social media is a great, free tool to use as part of your marketing strategy. It allows you an invaluable insight into your target customers’ behaviour. You can see what other brands do and learn from what they do right (or wrong).

Just be careful you’re not just using it to sell. People on social media don’t want to see a bunch of “buy this now” posts. They tend to prefer posts with helpful or interesting information, given in a conversational style.

Set up a referral scheme

Partnering up with another company in a referral scheme can be a great way to boost sales for both of you. It gives you a chance to have your services pitched to people who are already customers in a similar industry to the one you operate in.

People are often more likely to become a customer if there’s a recommendation because it helps to establish trust in the brand.

Set up a blog

Running a blog on your website is an effective way to show off your expertise, give out free handy advice and also to connect to your customers. Having articles full of tips can bring people onto your website and therefore increase your conversions.

Collect emails

Ideally you want to collect people’s emails so that you can send them information about your products plus any offers or deals you’re running. You can collect emails by getting people to enter competitions with their details or by providing a free downloadable resource or eBook if they sign up to newsletters.

Hand out branded items

If you’ve ever been to a tradeshow you may notice that everyone’s leaving with about 20 different mugs or pens all with company logos on. There’s a reason for this: everyone loves a freebie.

Many people would much rather take home a company branded mug than a leaflet. While that might not seem like much, they’re taking your logo and displaying it at their offices or in their homes.

It can become a talking point or get people thinking about your company where they might not have before. It can also help to create familiarity with your brand and people will always be more likely to buy from someone they’re familiar with.

At Orange Promotions we provide quality products with your logo printed on. We’ve got a huge range of products from office stationery, to bags, keyrings and seasonal items.
